Sunday
Eliot cleaned up our mess a bit.
With the walls in, we needed to install the doubled top plates that tie adjacent pieces together. That's a chance to correct things back to level and square.
And then we got to work putting in the top plates.
This room was designed for this scaffolding, right Isaac?
While Eliot installed plates, Jon trimmed notches into the beams that will be installed on the upper level of the BA Column wall.
Monday
Our friends Troy and James joined us to work today. They marked out the joist layout on top of the top plates.
Then we installed rim joists.
We liked this hammer silhouette left in the sawdust.

Here's Eliot playing around with a table saw cut-off.

With the rim joists prepared, we should be able to make a lot of progress on the common joists tomorrow.
Always design around the means and methods...ALWAYS! Loving the progress.
