Installing & finishing interior window trim

Boy, I kinda forgot to post for a while there. Sorry.

In December, Jeff and I finished up the big window trim.

Then in January we banged out a trim for the rectangle windows.

This involved a lot of sanding.

And careful fitting.

And ripping really long boards.

Here's the laundry room done,
and the kitchen,
and the stairwell.

In February I soldered up a mount for our Starlink service, which is working great!

Then Jeff and I finished the last window in the upper loft and worked on oiling the new windows.

Back another weekend for more oiling.

...and then Jon took a break for a few months.

A really big hole

The excavation team came today.  Paul, the excavator driver, helped Siggy scoop and dump the bucket. Then he taught Eliot how to drive and set him loose: The crew did get the foundation hole dug: Meanwhile, much of the family got a good start on painting the shop:

Current events

Saturday   Dan rode up with Eliot and I; Christina brought David, JJ, Peter, and Hannah. Lunch was eleven people. Another dump run. David worked on the pantry for the shedlet. We had to install one panel of siding so the meter base would end up on top of it. Dan & Eliot preparing the meter base and panels for dry fitting. Meter base is mounted; fitting the conduit. Sunday Preparing and installing the service entrance conductors. A shout out to my friend Brett who spent a few hours on the phone talking electrian-shop this week! This panel/meter layout and conduit routing was Eliot's solution to our panel placement problem. Meter base installed and wired to panels! Panels bonded & grounded to Ufer ground. An Ufer ground is basically rebar near the bottom of the concrete foundation that's continuous up through an access stub where it can be wired to the panel. Remarkably, the moisture in the concr...

Getting going on electrical

Today we met with an electrician for advice, and then installed our temporary service pole and our meter and panel for the shop: We also pounded in the indoor receptacles, and covered the attic vents with critter resistant mesh. We also passed our foundation wall inspection. And we took a load of construction debris to the dump. Also I think we saw a bear. Update. It was probably this particular bear. Our neighbors snapped this photo the next day, writing "Hello all, we just had a young visitor-a yearling cinnamon black bear."
