Still more electrical

Eliot and Jon wound up the kitchen lighting branches.  Saturday   Guinivere read a book and made lunch for everybody.   Christina and Siggy oiled the inside of the front door. Eliot and Jon chiseled away at the complicated tree of lighting wiring.   Christina is the panel queen; she terminated most of the branches. I think she just likes the torque wrench. We got the main panel complete, all but a single branch.   Eliot and Jon installed a box and circuit for a future electric-car charging station, because why not? It's a lot easier before the walls go on!

Yet more electrical

Eliot had his friend Remy join us. They installed the ridiculously-high chandelier and stairwell pendant boxes. Siggy made a chaise lounge.     Siobhan shot some bullseyes. A happy bird family has been nesting in our rafters (and pooping all over the window below it). Christina installed the exterior receptacles so we could stop dragging extension cords out the front door. We had pizza at Beau's, and Siobhan finally got to meet the legendary Beau himself.    Christina replaced the leaky outdoor spigot with a nice new one. Siggy found the biggest piece of wood on the scrap pile and recruited mom to help cut it.   Eliot furred in the ceiling over the upstairs shower and toilet to make space for the vent fan and can lights.     Christina installed the vent fan in the newly-furred ceiling.   Eliot and Siggy rode the elevator.   Christina installed some lighting branch wiring. Wheeee! Last big swing before a windstorm disassembled our 19-foot tree...

More electrical

Christina and I had a whole weekend just to ourselves to work on the cabin. Christina finished up oiling the exposed decking ceiling.          Jon, on the other hand, hit his head at home, and when he reached the cabin, Christina sent him to the clinic for stitches. So much for his Saturday. We got the exterior receptacle branch installed. Christina had a run-in with a hammer. Jon got a bathroom vent fan installed.

Electrical

I fell behind on posting updates, so just pics and not a lot of notes. Looks like on Memorial Day we installed some receptacle branches and some light boxes.

Current Events

Jon fixed some runs in the crawlspace that weren't correctly supported. Christina oiled the exposed wood ceiling while I worked on that. Then we worked on the upstairs receptacle branch, which was pretty complicated. We're not done with it yet. Grandma Jan came up to enjoy the noise and kids. We ate at Beau's. Love that place.

Electrical rough in for the kitchen

The kitchen got its five branch circuits installed today. Two receptacle circuits for appliances on the counters, plus fridge, dishwasher, and microwave. A little tree fell over the driveway this winter. Siobhan converted it into a chair. She also took this impressively intimate portrait of a ladybug. We ate dinner around the fire pit and had marshmallows for dessert. On Sunday we installed a branch with nine receptacles in the entry and great room, a home run to the upstairs bath receptacle, and then the beginning of the branch for the bath lights and fans. Siobhan made a new sign for the gate.
